Hello Bruin Club Blog readers! My name’s Allison García and I’m a second-year/second time Snapshots at Brown blogger. This is where you’ll find my (sometimes) sneaky and savagely HQ pics of Brown and the Providence area.
So this weekend, as a requirement for my VISA (visual arts) class, we had to attend a symposium held on Brown’s campus about arts and the environment. Particularly, we attended panels discussing sound. It was quite interesting, since the speakers ranged from those who worked with using sound to prevent deforestation to those who tied themselves to trees and throat sang (yeah don’t ask). There was even a listening room (pictured) where we could hear said throat sounds (but also a lot of cool sound pieces that do not involve trees or strange noises).
Until my next adventure,
P.S. If you know a cool place on campus that deserves the spotlight, or just want to talk about how amazing Brown is, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org!
